KeyBindProfiles: Switching Control Layouts Across Servers

Configuring distinct control layouts for different activities prevents conflicting key assignments during high-intensity gameplay. KeyBindProfiles adds dedicated profile management to the game settings, allowing players to store custom layouts and swap between them seamlessly.

Creating and Applying Control Profiles

Accessing the interface through the Open Key Bind Profiles key in the Controls menu opens the primary profile manager. Under "Manage Profiles", players can enter a title in the "Profile Name" field and click "Create Profile" to record the active key layout.

To switch setups, select a saved entry from the list and choose "Apply Profile". A confirmation notification indicates the "Applied profile", immediately remapping movement, inventory, and combat keys according to that profile. When fine-tuning layouts, players can adjust assignments directly within the standard game controls screen or use "Rename Profile" and "Delete Profile" to keep list entries organized. Backing up existing layouts across installations is handled through "Export All Profiles", which opens the local storage directory.

Automatic Server Profile Switching

Players who participate in minigames, survival realms, or creative builds frequently require specialized control schemes tailored to individual servers. The mod includes an "Auto-switch servers" configuration panel to automate these transitions.

Within the auto-switch menu, entering an address in the "Server address" field and clicking "Add server" binds the selected configuration directly to that multiplayer destination. Whenever the client connects to that matching domain, the corresponding setup activates automatically without manual selection. Multiple network addresses can be registered to a single preset, ensuring optimal responsiveness across different server environments.
